Another union creating disputes to make itself look important.

Union dispute over a flag

What will they strike over next? You seem to constantly hear of stories like this, where a union has decided to strike because of some petty, unimportant matter.

The above story is about how an Electrical Trades Union's flag was removed from an Alcoa flag pole. The way I see it, is that the flag pole belongs to the company and thus the company can do whatever the hell they want to with it. If that means a union can't fly their flag, then so be it.
Have all your members wear an arm band proudly showing their support for your union, or whatever. Get back to doing what you're paid to do in protecting your members employment rights, not piss-poor flag debates.

Unions are worthwhile for the most part, but when they start doing this sort of crap, they just make it worse for everybody...
